1. Introduction
SeniorBoard1 is a web-based digital information screen. It is usually shown on a large display in the home, set up by a customer or caregiver.
The service is designed for people with severe vision loss (for example AMD) who cannot use a mobile phone or a regular PC.
Content is shown in very large fonts and with a simple layout, so the end user can see key information without operating the system.
The Board shows basics like time, date and weekday, and can be extended with simple modules (for example calendar view, personal messages, photo slides, training cards, or a news ticker).
Google login is used. When connected, Google Calendar data can be fetched and filtered to show only a few relevant, non-repeating future events (for example the next six).
2. Roles and Definitions
In this policy:
- Administrator / Customer: The person who sets up and manages SeniorBoard1, connects Google Calendar, uploads photos, or sends messages. This may be a family member, caregiver, or other responsible person (also the paying customer).
- End user: The person who views the Board. Often a person with severe vision loss or memory difficulties who should not need to log in or control the device.
- User: Can mean both administrator/customer and end user, depending on context.
Both roles may have personal data processed by SeniorBoard1.

4. What data do we collect?
We may process:
- Name and email from Google login (administrator/customer)
- Calendar data from Google Calendar when connected
- Information you send us by email
- Messages and content entered into the system
- Photos uploaded for slideshows
- Technical logs (see section 9)
5. Purpose and legal basis
We process data to:
- Show a small set of the most relevant future calendar events on the Board
- Manage login and provide access to the service
- Display messages, live messages, and photo slides
- Respond to inquiries and maintain contact
Legal basis: your consent (for example Google login, reading calendar, sharing photos and messages) and our legitimate interest in delivering and improving the service.
7. Google services and Calendar
If you connect Google Calendar, SeniorBoard1 reads your events to decide which few future items to show on the Board.
To keep text large and simple, only a small number of upcoming events (for example 6) are shown at a time.
The system can filter for relevance and avoid duplicates and long lists of repeating items.
Calendar data is used only for showing events to the end user and is not shared with third parties.
8. How we use Google user data
We use your Google user data only to provide the services you request, such as displaying your calendar events on the SeniorBoard1 display. We do not use your Google data for advertising or marketing purposes.
9. Sharing, transfer, and disclosure of Google user data
We do not sell your Google user data to third parties. We do not transfer or disclose your information to third parties for purposes other than delivering the SeniorBoard1 service. Your data may be shared with our technology partners (such as Google Cloud and Firebase) only as necessary to operate and maintain the service.
10. Data protection mechanisms
We use industry-standard security procedures to protect the confidentiality and integrity of your data. This includes encryption of data in transit and at rest, access controls, and regular security reviews. Your Google user data is protected using the security features provided by Google Cloud and Firebase. Only authorized personnel have access to your data, and all access is logged and monitored.
11. Data retention and deletion
When the data retention period expires for a given type of data, we will delete or destroy it. Inactive user accounts and outdated calendar events may be deleted automatically as part of our regular data maintenance. You may request for your data to be deleted at any time by contacting us at
hello@seniorboard.net.
12. Cookies
SeniorBoard1 uses cookies and similar technologies:
- Essential cookies: Needed to keep you logged in and to run the service. These cannot be turned off.
- Google cookies: When you use Google login, Google may set its own cookies (see Google’s policy).
- No ads tracking: We do not use cookies for advertising.
- Basic statistics: We may use simple, aggregated data to improve reliability and usability.
By using SeniorBoard1, you accept essential cookies. You can control other cookies in your browser.
13. Backup and log files
Data may be included in secure system backups and used only to restore the service. Backups are kept for a limited period.
Log files may include timestamps, login status, error messages and technical events. Logs are used for security, troubleshooting and maintenance and are deleted on a rolling basis.
14. Data Visibility
SeniorBoard1 shows content on a shared screen (“the Board”). People in the room (for example visitors or caregivers) may see calendar events, messages or photos.
This can include sensitive details (for example doctor visits). If you do not want certain details to be visible, limit what is sent to the Board or adjust your calendar.
15. Your Rights
You have the right to access, correct, delete or restrict your data, object to processing, receive a copy (data portability), and withdraw consent at any time.
You can complain to the Danish Data Protection Agency (Datatilsynet). To use your rights, contact:
hello@seniorboard.net.
17. Changes
We may update this policy. Changes will appear here with a new date.
